The 24th of July . . . not really

Jason and I had an elaborate plan (based on Lori's model) to build two structures out of popsicle sticks and fireworks and then blow them up on the 24th of July (just like the pioneers used to do). Well, that was last year. We were never able to get them completed because I ended up having a baby on the 23rd. So this year we thought for sure we would finish. For some reason, that did not have to do with me giving birth, we still didn't finish. A few months later we decided we were sick of looking at our pile of sticks and fireworks so we glued our structures together into an odd looking castle. Then we took it outside and finally blew it up. It was a spectacular display and our Indian neighbors asked where they could get fireworks like ours to use for Diwali (the Indian festival of lights). We told them at this time of year the only place we could think of was Wyoming.

Boy oh boy, Annie, you gotta love those pioneers! Seeing your little house up in flames just brings tears of happiness to my eyes. You and Jason did a fabulous job on construction, way to go! Hurray for July 24th, in October.
